Cooking

After a consultation and an drapery installation in Providence's East Side, I drove up to North Providence to "Spices 'n Things" on Mineral Springs Avenue, to buy spices and other goodies for tomorrow night's "Cooks Club" with friends.  We're cooking Southeast Asian, including Chicken Satay so that I can use up a bucket of peanut sauce I have leftover from some Beef Satay I made for my brother's visit last weekend. So good.  Not sure what else we'll make, but it will include lots of sweet and spicy dishes.  I'm weaning myself off a pescatarian diet to local meats and poultry.  The beef we had last weekend was from DeNormandie Farms here in Fairhaven.  Very very good, but it's taking awhile to re-learn how to cook meat that is not of the mass-produced, corn fed, supermarket variety. This stuff is extremely lean, and takes a very gentle hand to cook just right.
